The lightly raced Western Duke made a long overdue appearance in the Class 3 – London Middle Distance Series Qualifier on Friday and though sent off at odds of 25/1 he again showed his 2YO sparkle winning with a bit in hand.   As a 2YO he had an official rating of 87 when finishing second to Derby horses such as Permian.  Displaying his 2YO potential, since gelded in May, we can expect some big handicaps to fall his way in the months ahead.  His younger brother Lynwood Gold won first time out on August 29th so we can expect some good performances from the two brothers over the coming months.  We would like to congratulate his trainer Ralph Beckett and owner London City Bloodstock.
