Rostropovich finished 2nd in the King Edward VII Stakes (GR2) at Royal Ascot and followed this up when beaten half a length in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Darby. Already a winner of the Futurity Stakes (GR2) as a 2YO he went to post in this GR3 race as an even money favourite. He did not disappoint his followers, winning with a bit in hand. He has now brought his total earnings to over €600,000 and must be well deserving of a GR1 victory.
