Broome (Australia X Sweepstake) won his maiden as a 2YO and was runner up at GR1 and GR2 level. He made his seasonal debut in the Ballysax Stakes (Group 3) at Leopardstown and won by eight lengths, pulling right away from the field.  His trainer suggested he might have another run before heading for the Epsom Derby on June 1st.

Broome’s sire Australia also won the Epsom Derby and Australia’s dam Ouija Board won the Oaks on the same track. Broome is out of Sweepstake, a listed winner and group placed, and hails from the same family as our outstanding mare Tyranny.  With Tyranny now dead it looks like Sweepstake will step into her shoes.
