Geo (Mehmas X River Rock) was unlucky in his two runs in July, in the first run been taken wide and on July 29th getting squeezed for room. With the top jockey, William Buick, taking over at Newbury Geo went to post as the favourite. Settled behind the leaders he was shaken up at the 3f mark where he took the lead and stayed on to win well by 1½ lengths. Geo is the first foal out of the Fastnet Rock filly, River Rock and is a daughter of Knocknagree. Knocknagree’s siblings include the group winners Zoffany, Rostropovich and Wiltshire Boulevard. River Rock has a yearling colt by Bluepoint, a filly foal by Night of Thunder and is in foal to Sioux Nation.
Geo should be back in the winners enclosure again in the very near future.
