Horsehoe Bay only raced four times on the flat for Sir Michael Stoute finishing 4th in the Bahrain Trophy (GR3) in July 2015 on his final start. Off the track for two years due to injury he moved from Sir Michael to Dan Skelton in early August and had his first run at Worcester in the Betfred Maiden Hurdle. Though running green and not jumping cleanly he picked up his ground well and kept on strongly from the last to win drawing away. This was a good start to life over hurdles and his trainer said he will improve from the experience.
Horseshoe Bay had an official rating of 92 on the flat and once he learns to jump cleanly he will be a bright prospect for his patient owners Bermuda Thoroughbred Racing Limited.
