Monotype (Makfi X Mill Guineas) who loves the soft ground got back to winning ways at Ffos Las. He did not get home when tried over two miles in July but obviously relished both the ground and the one mile four furlong distance, winning by a comfortable three lengths. He moved into the lead two furlongs out and galloped on strongly. Having won his maiden he was then fifth at group level last year so on his favourite ground and distance black type awaits. He is out of the Salse mare, Mill Guineas whose Canford Cliffs, already a winner, was beaten by a neck at Chester on the previous day.
Mill Guineas has a Pivotal filly selling in Newmarket Book One, she is a full sister to the black type winner Mill Marin.
