We had one last runner, before racing on turf closed in the UK at the end of October. Rising Power went to Doncaster carrying top weight and with an OR of 90 to contest the B.O.G. Nursery Handicap. After two wins from two runs in May and June we wondered if he would handle the soft ground under top weight. Those who made him favourite to win had few worries as he moved smoothly to lead at the 1f mark to run out a comfortable winner. With three wins from three racecourse appearances his new OR is 96 and we are likely to see him in pattern races in 2026. In the meantime he has headed for the sunshine of Dubai to contest the valuable races there at the Spring Carnival.
Rising Power’s dam, Pussycat Lips, did not have a yearling this year but has a colt foal by Paddington. She is in foal to City of Troy and will visit Palace Pier next Spring.
