Rostropovich provided our first group winner of the year in winning the Galileo Futurity Stakes (GR 2) at the Curragh. With the ground yielding to soft he hated every yard of it but ran on strongly to get up close home. He is now destined for the National Stakes GR 1 or another GR 1 race over a mile. Like many Frankel’s he will be at his best over middle distances and as a three year old.
