Salt Spray (Kodiac X Taste the Salt) was an expensive yearling selling at Tattersalls in 2021 for US $400,000.  He ran once as a 2YO beaten by a half a length on his first outing at Churchill Downs.  He managed just one run as a 3YO in September 2023 winning his maiden at Churchill Downes.  His next run was in April 2024 where he finished a close 3^rd at Keeneland.  He was put in the Horses in Training sale at Fasig Tipton after just four runs over three years and only realised 10% of his original value.  He was bought by K & K Racing Stables and transferred to Louisiana and after a long layoff returned to the racetrack at Louisiana Downes where he ran three times between the 15^th of June and the 28^th of July.  He won on June 15^th and again on June 29^th and lost out in a photo on the 28^th of July finishing a head 2^nd.  If he stays sound many more wins can be expected.

A full sister to Salt Spray was sold at Tattersalls last year which is unraced todate as a 2YO.  The dam Taste the Salt was barren to Wootton Bassett in 2024 but is now in foal to Blue Point.
