San Francisco Bay had his first win on June 5th and was an unlucky loser at Lingfield on June 24th, beaten by a neck. With a very short seven days turnaround he went back to Lingfield on July 1st and made no mistake on this occasion. Going to post as the 7/4 favourite he had three lengths to spare over the runner up, when taking control a long way out.
The handicapper has raised his rating by 7 lbs. Nevertheless the ease of his victory suggests that he can win again particularly on the all weather surface which he loves.
