Standing Rock did not race as a 2YO and made a winning debut at Newbury in the Crossland Maiden Fillies Stakes. Out of the winning race mare Great Hope she is closely related to the Black Type filly Reckoning – both being grand daughters of Danehill. Her grand dam, La Meilleure has produced multiple black type winners and stallions.
Making headway over 1f out she led in the final 120 yards and ran on well. Her jockey said she will improve a lot from the race as she was very green, as expected in her first run. She is next likely to be seen in a Conditions or a black type race.
