Stardays had done much of his racing at Dundalk and had finished 2nd on November 9th. On this occasion he stayed close to the leaders and went to the front 1f out. Faced with a strong challenge from the favourite in the final 100 yards he was not to be denied, just lasting home. When asked to explain his improvement in form from seven days earlier his trainer said it was a result of the positive ride he got letting the other horses, catch me if you can.
With this change in tactics he could easily add to his winnings at Dundalk in the months ahead.
