Vincenzo Peruggia (Lope de Vega X Sliabh Luachra) made his racing debut on June 15^th, finishing 3^rd in a 6f race that was all too short.  As the son of a High Chaparral mare he needed seven to eight furlongs at this stage and obviously middle distance races as a 3YO.  He found the ideal race at Beverley on Saturday being run over 7½f.  He led from the outset and was never in danger of being caught, winning by a comfortable three and a half lengths.  He looks an exciting prospect and will be contesting the good 1 mile races in the months ahead.

Vincenzo Peruggia is the fourth 2YO to race from the crop of yearlings we sold last autumn.  He is the third winner and the fourth horse, a filly named Awaken, has been 2^nd in both her runs which included the Albany Stakes (GR3) at Ascot on June 20^th.  All four have every chance of being black type winners before year end.
